STATE TIMES NEWSRAMBAN: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban has urged upon the Government of India to provide at least 50 lakh to each affected children who belong to front line warriors and had recently sacrificed their lives in serving the people of country under the Covid-19 pandemic. It becomes imperative for the government to take care of the children who have lost their parents in this covid-19 pandemic.In a statement issued here, he said it is the duty of both centre and state governments to provide immediate financial assistant to all the front line warriors ( Doctors, para-medical staff, Defence personnel, police office bearers, government servants, safaikarmchari,others who fall under the criteria of frontline warriors).Ashok said the number of small children losing parents has increased tremendously in the second wave. Since it has become a social issue, it is essential that the governments announce more benefits like reservation in school admissions or a fee waiver. Those who don’t have the documents to claim the benefits, government should ensure transparency in such contexts.Ashok has said that the government should also take immediate measures to nurture their up bringing and concrete methods to provide free education up to college level to each affected children of the front line warriors. He urged upon the government to design a effective social security scheme for children orphaned by the pandemic. Government should also give ?10000 per month till the child turns 20 and take care of his social security.Ashok further stated that proper rehabilitation and security should be provided the affected childrenwho belongs to front line warriors. He said that government should come forward and arrange proper and concrete measures to adopt orphans and take responsibility of their education up to college level.Ashok has strongly urged upon the Government of India to effectively implement all the social security schemes on war footing in this context as the matter is urgent and these people have sacrificed their lives for the cause of Nation. It is purely based on humanitarian grounds.
