STATE TIMES NEWSRajouri: In order to strengthen the bridge between police and public and to get first hand appraisal of public issues, police authorities here in Rajouri organised a series of public meetings across the district especially in far flung and peripheral areas.In an official statement issued here by police, these public meetings were organised at Budhal and Kotranka Kandi by Deputy SP PC Rajouri alongwith concerned SHOs, in Manjakote by SDPO Manjakote alongwith SHO, in Khawas by police team from police post, in Nowshera by AdSP Nowshera alongwith SDPO Nowshera and SHO Nowshera, in Teryath by local police post team, in Irwan Khanetar by Incharge Police Post Rajouri city, in Shahdra Sharif by SHO Thanamandi, in Lam by local police post team. During these meetings, local civil society members, traders, transporters and other stakeholders of society took part who all put forth different issues concerning masses.Police officials chairing these meetings gave a patient hearing to the issues and grievances put forth by participants further assuring them that all issues concerning other departments shall be taken up at appropriate platform through District Police Office while issues pertaining to police shall be solved at the earliest. The participants were also made aware about some social evils and crime like drugs addiction, domestic violence which need constructive approach of civil society also.In relation to drugs addiction, participants were requested to follow practices of upliftment of moral values among their wards at home which is best prevention to this crime.
