STATE TIMES NEWSKATHUA: A large number of Displaced persons of 1947 from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) held a protest against Tehsildar Marheen and other officials of Revenue Department for their arbitrary working. Demanding his transfer from present place of posting, they also urged for holding a detailed inquiry regarding his performance during his stay at present place.Led by Ashok Kumar Sharma, President Tehsil Marheen & Hiranagar, Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC), a number of DPs including Kuldeep Rai, Mohinder Sudan, Deepak Raina, Khem Raj, Munish Rishi, Mohinder Pal Sharma, Satinder Singh and Dr Narinder Sharma alleged that the Tehsildar is working like a ‘Tanashah’ and not complying to the directions of his senior officers, besides threatening and torturing DPs.Later, SDM Hiranagar Rakesh Sharma visited Dharna site and listened to the grievances of people besides assuring them for initiating appropriate action in the matter.
