JAMMU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah dashed hopes of all Kashmiri Pandits by staying mum on core issue of their permanent resettled/ rehabilitation as per their and aspirations in the Valley.More than five lakh exterminated KPs from Kashmir valley are still peripatetic across the country. Present rehabilitation policy meant for displaced KP is deceitful and a fraud. It was stated by Kundan Kashmiri, President, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in a meeting held on Sunday at New Delhi. While addressing participants, Kundan said that all political parties and politicians in helm of affairs from last 31 years promised to hold constructive dialogue with displaced community and its leadership and then take them back to valley as per their wishes and aspirations, for which we are waiting for till date.“Home Minister, in his recent speech in parliament, only talked about six thousand jobs to displace Kashmiri youth along with Government accommodation for them, which has already been announced by the previous Govt led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2008. Moreover, Prime Minister and Home Minister also remained silent over passage of Temples & Shrines Bill. Nothing has been talked about land and property of KPs taken under distress sales, encroachments and through faulty laws,” he asserted.President KPC further stated that return of KPs to the valley is a very sensitive issue which needs to be dealt sensitively as KPs want only one place rehabilitation under the Constitution. KP community wants to live in Kashmir valley as Indian, die as Indian, but together at one place as a community as a true Indian nationalist to serve and contribute for the nation, he added.Kundan urged Prime Minister and Home Minister to convene a meeting with the KP community and its leadership for discussing their grave problems, difficulties and long pending demands besides initiating measures to redress the same at the earliest possible.
