STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Dr Parneesh Mahajan, Convenor, Department of Training, BJP, J&K unit hailed the initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on calling an All Party Meet (APM) on June 24 to delve and evolve consensus on the future course of J&K Union Territory. In a statement issued to media here on Sunday, the BJP leader said that the upcoming APM is critical as far as bringing back the political buzz in the Union Territory, which got a setback due to political activity taking a backseat after abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.He said that the time now is ripe for deciding the new course of the UT of J&K by taking into confidence political class of all hues and shades so that all the political parties play their crucial role in shaping the future of J&K. Mahajan said that as far as people of the region are concerned there is no need to get panicked or raise apprehensions because Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be steering the proceedings and until and unless he is there no power on earth can think of denting the interests of the people of the Union Territory.Expressing full confidence in the BJP leadership at the Centre and those who have been invited from the UT, the senior BJP leader said that the APM will bring win-win situation for all and a good fortune for the region.“The way the democratic sit-down has been called by the Prime Minister Modi at such a crucial time it is sure that it will help in reviving a working relationship between the Valley’s leadership and the Centre, which is quite significant as far as UT’s fate is concerned”, Mahajan said, adding that the response of majority of leaders in J&K over the APM is quite inspiring and it seems that sooner than later the political hustle-bustle will return in J&K and soon a political dispensation will replace the ‘makeshift’ incumbent administration that is running the affairs of the Union Territory right now.
