Pinto Club wins opening tie in Volleyball Premier League



JAMMU: Pinto Volleyball Club Jammu won the opening match of the Jammu District Volleyball Premier League, organized by UT of J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Green Field, Shastri Nagar, which commenced here on Friday.
In the opening match, Pinto Volleyball Club Jammu defeated Jammu Spikers by straight 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) sets.
The match was officiated by the technical panel including Amarjeet Singh, Mulkh Raj Sharma and Ashiq Hussain.
Earlier the volleyball league was declared open by the Chief Guest, Riaz Ahmed, Administrative Officer JKSC in the presence of Guest of Honour, Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer VAJK as also Associate Secretary Volleyball Federation of India. Gurdev Singh Randhawa Secretary District Kupwara Volleyball Association was the special invitee on the occasion.
The Jammu Premier League is being held under the supervision of Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer JKSC
Other prominent persons present were HS Gill Executive Vice President, Vijay Kumar Magotra General Secretary, R.C Sharma Treasurer, Manmeet Singh Jammu District Association President, Subash Shastri executive member and Veena Kumari of VAJK.
Officials and coaches of JKSC besides a large number of volleyball player attended the opening function.
The Jammu Premier League in the disciplines of volleyball, football, Hockey and kabaddi was declared open by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha recently.
