STATE TIMES NEWSPOONCH: A peaceful protest was held in front of Deputy Commissioner Office Poonch against the illegal mining being carried out in Poonch rivers. The members of the civil society, advocates, BDC Chairpersons and others lambasted the District administration for not showing their concern towards the serious issue. “Most of the JCB are extracting the material without any allotment or licence and it is causing a huge loss to public exchequer”, they said. The protestors gave an ultimatum of 10 days to the Administration to check and curb the illegal mining otherwise series of protests shall be carried out at different places throughout the District. Those who were present at the time of protest includes Iftkar Bazmi, Ajit Verma, Bhanu Pratap, Aftab Ganai, Saleem Sheikh, Navjot Sharma (Advocates), Sanjeev Sharma (President Navapoonch), Jameel kohli (BDC Poonch) Naseer Gujaar (BDC Nangali), Tanveer Choudhary (JKAP), Kamran Khan (JKPM), Ayaz Mughal (Editor Kaangri.Com).
