People of Kanga Gali take resolve to stay away from tobacco

RAJOURI: To counter the rising cases of drug/ tobacco addiction in the region, a lecture cum interaction session on “Ill Effects of Tobacco” was organised by Army at Kanga Gali in district Rajouri (J&K) on Friday. The event was conducted with an aim to educate the populace on causes of addiction, ill effect of tobacco and various methods to stay away from it. The speaker to the gathering that exposures to tobacco smoke quickly damages blood vessels which leads to various ailments in human body. Use of Tobacco also effects the brain, respiratory, cardiovascular, immune and metabolic system. A healthy person can suffer from various types of diseases due to tobacco like cancer, heart diseases, lung diseases and chronic bronchitis. During the interactive session, the audience was also encouraged to spread ill effects of tobacco to their families, friends and society so that precious lives of youth can be saved. The attendees took resolve to stay away from use of tobacco. The attendees appreciated the efforts of Indian Army and expressed their gratitude for enlighting them on evils of tobacco.
