JAMMU: Having nothing to claim except utter failure to convince the public to support them in the ongoing elections of DDCs, the opposition parties are feeling it difficult to stay in race and hence their leaders are only targeting BJP with a hope to save deposits of their candidates but won’t succeed.
This was stated by Jammu and Kashmir BJP, Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while reacting to the oft-repeated false allegations on BJP of not fulfilling its promises.
Balbir reminded the vocal leaders of these parties that the biggest promise of repealing Article 370 has been fulfilled by BJP, which received wide appreciation not only in Jammu and Kashmir but across the country.
NC, Congress and other parties too know it but won’t appreciate the same because of political compulsions.
“The BJP has no hesitation in claiming that it fulfilled another promise of granting citizenship rights to refugees from West Pakistan”, Balbir said and added that these people were never treated as human beings for 70 years by successive governments of NC and Congress.
Balbir told these leaders that BJP not remained confined to fulfill its promises but did much more like granting 10 per cent reservation to Economically Weaker Sections, political reservations to STs, reservation in jobs to Pahari and IB youth, setting up of CAT Bench, declaring Dogri as an official language of Jammu and Kashmir, telecast of Dogri News Bulletin on Doordarshan, few to mention which people got during BJP’s 6 years rule.
Earlier also, under Atal Behari Vajpayee as PM, the BJP government had honoured Dogri by including in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
It would not be wrong to mention that the opposition parties are suffering from political myopia and the same can be verified from the ground realities that none of their leader can see IIT, IIM, AIIMS, Medical Colleges, Biotech Park, development of Devika and Mansar, widening of Jammu-Poonch road, construction of bridges like Keediyan-Gandyal and Indri-Pattan, Ujh Multipurpose Project, Multi Storey Parking Project at Jammu Bus Stand, Delhi- Amritsar-Katra Expressway, upgradation of Jammu Airport, modernization of Jammu Railway Station, setting up of Delimitation Commission etc.
