Dear Editor,Through medium of your daily esteemed I would like to draw the attention of the Defence Minister of India and Chief of Defence Staff towards the demand for early opening of Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Hospital at Sunderbani in Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory. The veterans and Veer-Naris from Sunderbani, Nowshera and Kalakote sub Divisions of District Rajouri Jammu Kashmir Union Territory and adjoining areas are facing a lot of difficulty due to non-availability of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Hospital at Sunderbani. At present, the ex servicemen from area have to go to Rajouri which is about more than 125 Km away. As most of the areas are hilly and remote, there is no road connectivity and the person can’t return back home by evening after getting medical check-up. If one has to hire a private cab, it never costs less than Rs 4000. Especially the old aged ex-servicemen and old aged widow women are facing more problems and have even stopped availing medical facilities due to long-distance.As such, it is requested that an Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Hospital may please be established at Sunderbani being the central place of the three sub divisions of district Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir Union territory.Madan Lal Narad,CPO (Retired) Indian Navy,Devak Sunderbani.
