Nowshera Forest Division holds fire awareness camp

SUNDERBANI: A forest fire awareness camp was held here at Massiote in Sunderbani Forest Range on Friday in which Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri was the chief guest and Vinod Baniyal Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Neelima Shah IFS Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera,Sangeeta Sharma DDC Seot, BDC chairman Seot Bal Krishan , SHO Dharam saal Neeraj Choudhary HDO ,AEO, AEE PWD were the guest of honours.
Rakesh Verma Range officer Sunderbani welcomes all the guests and made a brief account of forest fires of Sunder bani Forest Range, while speaking he expressed his thanks to the people of all the adjoining panchayats who rendered their support during the last year’s forest fires . He also urged them the same support during this year too.
Neelima Shah Divisional Forest Officer Now shera gave a detailed overview of forest fires it’s causes and control measures. She also informed them that this year Nowshera Forest Division is using Leaf blower and bush cutters to contain the forest fires in mechanised way. Temporary fire lines has been prepared all around the vulnerable areas besides control burning. Bal Krishan Chairman BDC Seot while speaking said that his team of all PRIs is always ready to support the forest department in all its affairs , it may forest fire, encroachment issues or plantation programmes. Sangeeta Sharma also extended her full support to the forest department. Vinod Baniyal ADC said that it’s our fundamental duty to control Forest fires . Vivek verma CF West Circle Rajouri said that forest fires have ill effects on both environment and forests. We have to create green corridors for the clean air. He also stressed that a team of fire volunteers should be constituted at Panchayat level so that the information should be quickly disseminated . He also presented on plant and a certificate to the newly born girl child besides distribution of 400 fruit plants among all the participants.
Anita Sharma Sarpanch Channi extended her vote of thanks to all the guests as well as general public present during the fire camp. The camp was jointly organised by Rangeel Singh BO Sunder bani and Ved Parkash BO Dharam saal.
