RAJOURI: Police on Saturday arrested a notorious thief and recovered thirty two stolen Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders from his possession. The accused was identified as Jawaid Maqbool, son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Ward No. 8, Rajouri. Police informed that a number of complaints were received wherein complainants hailing from various areas in and near Rajouri town, complained regarding theft of their domestic LPG cylinders. A police team headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani under the supervision of DSP Headquarter, Vinod Sharma started investigation of the complaints, during which name of a suspect surfaced who was detained for questioning. Police further added that accused broke down during questioning and later thirty two stolen LPG cylinders were recovered from his possession.
A case vide No FIR 654/2020 under Sections 457 and 380 of IPC was registered at Rajouri Police Station and further investigation is going on in the matter.
