NIS trained youth appeal to LG

JAMMU: Still hopeful of a better deal in the hands of Government around 200 young men and women, who were trained through National Institute of Sports (NIS) under Prime Minister’s package in 2016, have made a fervent appeal the Lieutenant Governor (LG) for a livelihood.
Rendered jobless after a brief 12-month engagement with the J&K Sports Council (JKSC) by the then Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP Government in 2018, these individuals still wait for a favourable decision in the hands of LG administration. Engaged in 2017 on a monthly honorarium of Rs 5,000, some of these ‘community coaches’ worked well at their places of postings at far off places but only to be thrown out without any notice or a valid reason.
