Natrang organises Cartoon Exhibition on World Environment Day

JAMMU: Natrang organised an online Cartoon Exhibition by famous cartoonist Chander Shekhar in connection with the celebrations of World Environment Day. Best selected cartoon creations of Chander Shekhar carrying highly motivational messages received huge appreciation and applause.
Balwant Thakur, Director of Natrang while inaugurating the exhibition online said that it has been the endeavour of Natrang to organise the majority of the world’s days using art as a medium to share meaningful thoughts on that particular day.
Cartoons are the most effective tools of communication. Sometimes one cartoon conveys more than one printed book.
He further said that Jammu is blessed to have very good cartoonists and Chander Shekhar is one amongst them. He has to his credit many national and International Cartoon Exhibitions which he not only participated but curated as well.
Cartoons are non-realistic or semi-realistic drawing or painting intended for satire, caricature or for creating humor.
Balwant Thakur related the art of cartoons with theatre as both are the most effective narrative arts. In a very artistic way his cartoons which have been featured in this exhibition convey very effectively the damage we have done to the other earth.
Balwant Thakur desired that shuch cartoons be displayed at prominent places with the aim to educate the masses.
