JAMMU: The Jammu administration on Tuesday issued a guidelines for opening of Narwal Fruit Mandi during corona curfew.
To reduce overcrowding, congestion and simultaneously ensuring essential supplies, the Narwal Mandi of Jammu shall be opened from 5:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with effect from May 12, 2021 (Wednesday) onwards, officials said.
An order issued by District Magistrate Jammu Anshul Garg reads “In exercise of powers conferred under Section 34 of National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and in my capacity as the Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, Jammu do hereby issue directions in respect of Narwal Fruit Mandi,”
As per directions, the timing of opening of Narwal Mandi shall be from 5:00 AM to 12:00 Noon from May 12, 2021 (Wednesday) onwards to reduce overcrowding and congestion and simultaneously ensuring essential supplies.
“Director Horticulture Planning & Marketing shall deploy loudspeakers in the market for making announcements for making the public aware of COVID appropriate behaviour and social distancing norms,” it stated and added, “Priya Sharma, Assistant Marketing Officer shall be the Nodal Officer at the venue to ensure implementation on daily basis and Chief Medical Officer, Jammu shall deploy four teams for conducting the Rapid ntigen Tests of minimum 600 persons on daily basis.”
“Rohit Sharma, Tehsildar Bahu shall be the duty magistrate at the venue to supervise all the aforesaid arrangements on a daily basis,” it added.
“Any violation of above direction shall lead to prosecution under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act, 2005. 6. Since, it is not possible to serve prior notice of this order; it is as such being issued ex-parte,” reads the order.
