Narco smuggler held with heroin


RAMBAN: Tightening noose over narcotics smugglers under Operation Sanjeevani, Ramban police foiled a narcotic smuggling bid at Shan Palace, Ramban.
As per details, on intervening night of Dec 22-23, a police party headed by PSI Arun Thakyal during Naka checking near Shan palace NHW Ramban intercepted a Tavera (JK01T 4692) coming from Kashmir and moving towards Jammu. During checking 5.8 gm heroine like substance was recovered from the possession of a passenger namely Abid Hussain Peer, son of Peer Siraj-ud-Din, resident of Soaf Shalli, Anantnag. He was arrested and FIR No. 221/2021 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Ramban. The investigation of the case was entrusted to PSI Madhav Sharma. The overall recovery and arrest was made by police team under supervision of Insp Sandeep Charak, SHO Ramban and Pardeep Singh Sen, DySP Hqrs Ramban under overall supervision of Mohita Sharma, SSP Ramban.
