Mother, daughter charred in Kishtwar fire



Kishtwar: In a tragic incident, a woman and her daughter were burnt alive in a mysterious fire incident, which engulfed their house in remote village Manzgaam-Tagood area of Kishtwar last midnight.
According to SHO Chatroo Sandeep Parihar, a fire was broke out in a house of Poshi Devi, daughter of Late Jamet Ram last midnight at Manzgaam-Tagood area of Tehsil Mughalmaidaan in District Kishtwar, about 26 Km away from District Headquarters, in which two women burnt alive. After witnessing smoke and flames, people informed police. A Police party led by DySP HQ Kishtwar Devinder Singh Bandral and SHO Chatroo Sandeep Parihar rushed to the spot and along with Red Cross Team, locals and fire tenders, and doused the flames, which were spreading rapidly. Both bodies were retrieved and handed over to family members. The deceased have been identified as Poshi Devi (58) and her 24-year old daughter Netu Balla, daughter of Balwan Singh.
When contacted SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat, while confirming the incident, said that investigation has been initiated to ascertain cause of fire. Meanwhile Forensic Science Teams also rushed to spot and collected the samples from the site.
