JAMMU: Leveling serious allegations against the Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh, a senior BJP leader and former MLC Ch Vikram Singh Randawa on Monday claimed that his agents are minting money in Jammu from mining smugglers.Naming one Bharat Sharma as the agent of Dr Jitendra Singh, Ex MLC said that District Mining Officer Jammu Ankur Sachdeva has told him that they pay to Dr Jitendra’s agent, Bharat Sharma and other senior officers including Senior Superintendent of Police and Divisional Commissioner.“The local crusher owners are being harassed,” said Randawa, President Jammu Stone Crushers Association.“Notices for lakhs of rupees have been served to us for none of our faults”, he said, adding that the crusher owners have decided to go for self -immolation next Monday in front of the office of District Mining Officer Jammu Ankur Sachdeva, who is allegedly taking hefty amounts from mining mafia every month.Meanwhile, Sanjeev Sharma Executive member of BJP and In-charge Parliamentary Affairs in a press briefing here, on behalf of Dr Jitendra Singh, said that the MoS PMO has challenged Randawa to either produce any proof for such serious allegations and tender apology publically within next 24 hours or face defamation for Rs one Crore.“We don’t know what frustration the ex MLC had, which led him to hold a press conference”, said Sanjeev, adding that Randhawa is a senior party leader and they only ask him to either produce any proof or tender an apology.Meanwhile, District Mining Officer (DMO), Ankur Sachdeva told reporters that he has obeyed the Court orders, on whose directions illegal mining was stopped in the River Tawi bed. “Randhawa is also having a crusher and he was among those indulging in illegal mining which was banned by the Court after a PIL was filed,” said Sachdeva.
