Mitigate sufferings of Bohri residents

Dear Editor,
A deputation of residents of Bohri, Talab Tillo, Wazir Lane, Durga Nagar (Ward No. 40, 41 & 61) and adjoining localities met Suresh Chugh, IFS, Chairman J&K Pollution Control Board in connection with the problems being faced due to unhealthy and unhygienic conditions prevailing in the area due to massive pollution caused by a wine factory named as Dewans Modern Breweries, Bohri Jammu which is releasing foul smell and hazardous gases by its operations. Copies of previous correspondence were also submitted to the Chairman JKSPCB Jammu and all issues were brought to his notice in detail. He gave a patient hearing to the grievances and assured all possible help under rules to save the environment of the area and ending sufferings of the residents of the area caused due to operations of the aforesaid wine factory.
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, we would like to request concerned agencies to initiate necessary steps for checking the pollution, being spread by the distillery.
