Mir expresses concern over difficulties confronted by people due to fresh snowfall

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A Mir has expressed anguish over the hardships confronting people living in South and elsewhere in Kashmir due to fresh snowfall, demanding that the electricity and road clearance especially in Kapran, Desa, Dooru, Veerinag, Duksum, Noorabad, Pahalgam, Bijbehehaa and elsewhere in Kashmir be ensured, on war footing basis.
Mir also urged the Govt to ensure every facility to people living in Karnah, Keran, Gurez and elsewhere in South Kashmir, which are disconnected due to the snowfall and their difficult topographies.
Mentioning that fresh snow fall in Kashmir and elsewhere in J&K has disconnected people from District headquarters especially those living in far off places in South and North Kashmir, Mir said that it seems that administration has got buried under a few inches of snow, as that various far off paces were disconnected with their respective district headquarters, as reported by people, although various agencies and Municipal Committees have started their work early, but at the same time, the Govt is required to speed up the work, besides gearing up agencies especially those managing electricity, road clearance, supply of essentials, medical facilities in order to ensure respite to people.
“I was appraised by various people about the situation and difficulties confronting them due to fresh snowfall and sought redressal of their grievances,” Mir added.
JKPCC President laid emphasizes over ensuring adequate supply of electricity, essentials and road clearance in upper reaches in south, North and elsewhere in Kashmir to ensure respite to people from the current bone chilling weather.
