JAMMU: Continuing the drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation on Tuesday along with Dinesh Gupta Councilor of Ward No. 18 kick started the construction work of lane in terms of laying of tiles near Shivaji Park Sarwal, here.Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer, V.K Raina Junior Engineer of division-II of engineering wing of JMC, concerned contractor other supervisory staff as well as Karan Sharma Ward No. 18 President, Kuldeep Chander Sharma (Retired Master) Subash Gupta, Ashok Gandhi, Sangeeta Gupta, Madam Anu Aggarwal, Ravi Bali and other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also remained present during the tour of the Mayor.Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals which has now been fulfilled by starting the much awaited work with an estimate cost of Rs 7 lakh as the locals especially children & senior citizens were facing great hardships due to this damaged lane measuring about 400 ft long.Locals also put forth various other demands before the Mayor such as construction /renovation of leftover lanes/drains of the ward, installation and rectification of LED street lights as well as High mast lights in the lanes/Chowks which are prevailing in darkness to avoid any types of untoward incidents in the locality, lifting of stray animals on routine basis etc. Mayor gave patience hearing to them and assured that all their genuine issues will be sorted out on priority basis.
