STATE TIMES NEWSJammu: To highlight various initiatives taken by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), during the month of June 2021 for making Jammu neat, clean & green city, the Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Deputy Mayor Adv Purnima Sharma addresses a press conference on Saturday. Narinder Singh, Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee; Kuldeep Singh, Chairman Social Justice Committee; Yash Pal Sharma, Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee were also present on the occasion.Various development works highlighted during the press conference included laying foundation stone of charging station for Electric-Rickshaws, near Dogra Chowk Jewel, reviewing water supply position at Boria water filtration plant near Kalka Colony Bahu Fort besides issuing instructions for regulating drinking water supply on urgent basis, starting project of laying of dedicated feeders for street lights & high mast lights, starting work for construction of a Tanga stand along with suitable store room at Gole area near Tawi, laying foundation stone of Garbage Transfer Station at Bhagwati Nagar, starting construction work of artificial water body near Sewerage Treatment Plant site, Bhagwati Nagar. Mayor further said that with active support of Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industries & other Social Organisations, JMC has continued its mission by providing dry ration, other essential food items to Safai Sathis who are continuously working as true soldiers for keeping city neat, clean & green during second wave of coronavirus. “JMC has also started a special sanitation/ bush cutting drive to clean all main roads starting from Kaluchak towards Sidhra, Gangyal, Bantalab and other areas of city and all the Councillors as well as Commissioner & other officers are taking part in this drive on routine basis. Besides this, by deploying special labours under supervision of Senior Officers of JMC all the Nallahs /deep drains of the city are being de-silted thoroughly keeping in view upcoming rainy season,” he added.
