AKHNOOR: A man was killed while other got injured in a road mishap at Akhnoor on Wednesday.As per details, an information through reliable sources was received at Police Post Chowki Choura that one Eon Car (JK12A/6450), driven by Rohin Nanda, son of Puran Nanda, resident of Pacca Danga Tehsil and District Jammu, in a rash and negligent manner from Rajouri towards Jammu, hit a road side parked truck (JK02AT/3927) near NH Chowki Choura. In the collision, both vehicles caught fire and car driver along with other person namely Rahil Sachdev, son of Surinder Singh, resident of Lower Roop Nagar Tehsil and District Jammu, who was also travelling in car, received injuries. On this, a case vide FIR No. 237/2020 under Sections 279, 337 of IPC was registered and a police party rushed to the spot and shifted injured persons to hospital for treatment, but Rohin Nanda was declared as brought dead. The post-mortem of deceased was conducted at SDH Akhnoor, after which the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
