JAMMU: A Jammu resident was arrested from Roorkee (Uttarakhand) in connection with rape of a minor girl, officials said.As per details, a report regarding rape of a minor girl was lodged at Police Station Domana in February 2020. On this, a case vide FIR No. 99/2020 under Sections 366-A & 376 of IPC, 3 & 4 of POSCO Act was registered and medical examination of victim was conducted. It was also reported that accused namely Yasir Khan, son of Zakir Hussain, resident of Takku Chak, Domana has fled outside UT of J&K.After this, different teams of Police Station Domana were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Dy SP Kousheen Koul for search/ arrest of accused. A Police team led by SHO Domana Insp Chanchal Singh assisted by PSI Kulvinder Dev, following various leads of case, raided several places in Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand and finally, with technical assistance and support of local police, the accused was arrested from Piran Kaliyar, Roorkee. Further investigation of the case is going on.
