STATE TIMES NEWSKHOUR: Madan Lal Sharma Charitable Trust held a meeting at village Rishi Colony of Panchayat Sainth of Khour Block on Sunday which was chaired by chairperson of the trust Satish Sharma.Hundreds of people from Panchayat Sainth and adjoining areas were present during the meeting. Number of respected citizens of the area spoke during the occasion which include ex-Vice Chairman OBC Board Kuldeep Raj Verma, Prem Singh, Ram Swaroop, Rano Devi, Sarpanch Charan Dass, Ex Sarpanch Sukhdev Sharma, Suman Sharma, Vakeel Singh ,Lambardar Charan Dass , Darshan Lal Panch. The speakers raised the various issues being faced by the people of the border & adjoining areas like pending compensation for the land acquired by the army, poor condition of the roads, reinstatement of ALC quota and asked Satish Sharma to also raise these issues with concerned authorities to get these issues resolved. Speaking on the occasion Satish Sharma said “while coming for the meeting I saw the pathetic condition of the roads and also that I am very well aware about the issue of the compensation and I have even inquired about this from the office of district collector”. He also said that we have to fight a long agitation unitedly to get back our ALC certificate as it is question of our upcoming generations. he said that merging ALC with IB category certificate is a serious fraud and an act of back stabbing as the people of border belt have fought like army soldiers in every war and this act of reducing their quota in job is not acceptable. During the program financial assistance cheques were given to Toshi Devi of Khour for admission of his son in graduation, Ravi Kumar of Magyal for undergoing kidney treatment in Jalandhar, Jyoti Devi and Reeta Devi of village Garar for widow pension, Tarsem Singh of Magyal as financial assistance and others. After this sports kits for volleyball, cricket and football were also distributed amongst the youth & note books were distributed amongst school going children of the area.
