POONCH: M.D Bandey Memorial Society (REGD), Poonch under the chairmanship of Er. Saleem Bandey organised a function to honour Ajit Sigh Jeet, Inspector Rural Development Department (RDD) and Mohd. Tariq Khan, Physical Education Master (PEM) who have attained superannuation after rendering meritorious services in their respective departments. A function was in this regard was held in Dak Bungalow Poonch in which Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaz Chuhan was the Chief Guest and was attended by large number of civil society members and sports lovers as both the retirees are veteran sportspersons. Ajit Singh is the founder father of Table Tennis in Poonch and its District President also and many players under his coaching have represented at National level, however he couldn’t attend the function as he was out of station. Tariq Khan who was presented with a shawl and memento is a National volleyball player and coach too who has produced many youngsters who have brought laurels for the district at National and International level including Saqlain Tariq.
As a regular feature of the NGO, some persons from different departments/fields were also felicitated with presenting mementos which include Dr. Priyanka Bhagat, Dr. Shehnaz Bhatti, Dr. Shikha Sharma, Dr. Palvi Banotra all Consultant Gynecologists and Dr. Ahsan Ul Haq Consultant Physician besides Balbir Singh Senior OT Technician and Arvind Bhatti Sanitation Worker. All these have done exemplary services in district hospital Poonch during covid-19.
In sports category Vanshika Sharma was honoured for participating at National level in the game of Table Tennis being the first girl from the district who have represented in National Championship in Table Tennis.
Er. Jagmit Singh Jimy Junior Engineer has been awarded for his extraordinary service in the Power Development Department.
Best Anchor award was given to the renowned figure of the district Pardeep Khanna for his best performance in his field at various platforms of VVIPs throughout the country in civil and army functions.
