LIC employees observe 65th ‘Foundation Day’ of NZIEA

JAMMU: A number of LIC employees under banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA) led by Divisional Secretary, Pawan Gupta observed Foundation Day of NZIEA at Jammu. On the occasion, Flag of the Association was hoisted by Vice President NZIEA, Dinesh Kumar Sharma accompanied by all members of Association including women Convener Neelam Sharma Joint Secretary, Romesh Chand, Rajesh Kumar, Nanak Chand, Shiban Raina, Kishore Lal and Raj Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Gupta congratulated all the members on 65th Foundation Day of NZIEA and said that Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association was formed on December 22, 1956. Its 64 years period has remained a period of struggles and sacrifices for rights of insurance employees and against policies of the Government adversely affecting the employees, he added. Gupta condemned anti-people, anti-farmers and anti-workers policies of NDA Government with a special reference to neo liberal economic policies which have led to wholesale privatisation of public sector and benefitting corporate at the cost of workers and farmers. He strongly opposed move of NDA Government which is going ahead with bringing IPO in LIC of India, thus paving way for its privatisation. Government, in fact, want to benefit Corporates. He supported demands of agitating farmers and appealed to Government to concede to the demands at the earliest, he added. It was resolved by all and one to strengthen the organisation by remaining united and also to be ready for any struggle for rights of employees and also against any move which is against the industry.
