Over the recent past, Science and Technology has made tremendous contribution towards the settlement of industries in India. The perceptible examples are the development of Atomic Energy, Space Science, dozens of successful satellite systems, advanced medical technologies, etc. In last few years, science has helped a lot in development of India. Science has contributed in all the sectors. Science has improved the global economy, increased employment opportunities, saved millions of lives and has played a major role in a lot of industries. Science is very important for the growth and development of India. It even plays a key role in our daily lives. Every country should invest as much as possible in research and development for scientific technologies.
Science and technology are important parts of our day to day life. We get up in morning with the ringing of our alarm clocks and go to bed at night after switching the lights off. All these luxuries that we are able to afford are a resultant of science and technology.
Science encompasses the methodical study of the physical and natural properties of our surroundings through the medium of research and experiment. Technology is the application of science to achieve a realistic goal. The combination of science and technology enables us to live a comfortable life.
Science and technology are not static. Every day there is a discovery. Science and technology is a significant factor in improving various sectors, such as agriculture, industry, transport, communication, education, health, construction, etc. We avail various benefits that science and technology provide us. The knowledge of science and technology are helping us in the betterment of our lives.
When it comes to Indian Scientists, the first name that comes to my mind is CV Raman. CV Raman was the first Asian who won the Nobel Prize. His work was related to light and sound. He investigated that when light passes through a transparent material, some of the deflected light waves see the change in its amplitude and wavelength.
APJ Abdul Kalam is the second name that comes to my mind among Indian Scientists. APJ Abdul Kalam worked as an Aerospace engineer with ISRO and DRDO. He was also President of India from 2002 to 2007. Abdul Kalam contributed a lot to Aerospace sector. One of his contributions is deploying Rohini Satellite near Earth’s orbit. A few more names are Homi Bhabha, Visvesvaraya, Venkataraman Radhakrishnan, Satyendra Nath Bose etc.
Whenever any new technology is discovered it leads to new industries. For example, if any new scientific devices is invented it will require eligible professionals to control the device. Such inventions help in increasing employment opportunities. This also helps in growth of many businesses which in turn develops the Indian economy.
In the last few years, medical science has evolved so much and saved billions of lives. New technologies like wireless brain sensors, artificial organs, smart inhalers, robotic surgery, virtual reality are making work easier for thousands of doctors around the world. These technologies are also saving millions of lives and curing diseases
Science has played a very major role in the Agriculture sector. Food is one of the basic needs of our lives. And science has now invented so many new agriculture techniques which have increased production drastically. The old mundane techniques farmers used to follow were very slow, expensive, and required too much effort.
Science has made everything a lot easier for farmers. Improved facilities in irrigation, modern fertilizers, advanced equipments, and pesticides are helping farmers to work faster, and save more money.
Ever since British rule, India has been in talks all over the world. After gaining independence, it is science and technology which helped India advance through times. Now, it has become an essential source of creative and foundational scientific developments all over the world. In other words, all the incredible scientific and technological advancements have enhanced the Indian economy. Subsequently, science and technology have assisted in advancing various fields including Mathematics, Astrophysics, Space technology, Nuclear energy and many more. Some fine examples of these developments are railway system, smartphones, the metro system, and many more.
Looking at the most recent achievement, India successfully launched Chandrayaan_2. This lunar exploration of India has earned critical acclaim from all over the world. Once again, this achievement was made possible due to science and technology.
If we think in detail, there are numerous benefits of science and technology, which range from the little things to the big ones. For instance, the morning news paper, which we read and which delivers us reliable information, is a result of scientific progress. In addition, the electrical devices without which life is hard to imagine like refrigerator, AC, microwave and more are also result of technological advancement.
Furthermore, if we look at the transport scenario, we notice how science and technology has played a major role here as well. We can quickly reach the other part of the earth within hours, all thanks to advancing technology. In addition, science and technology have enabled man to look further than our planet. The discovery of new planets and establishment of satellites in space is all because of the very same science and technology.
Similarly, science and technology have also made an impact on the medical and agricultural fields. Various cures being discovered for diseases have saved millions of lives through science. Moreover, technology has enhanced the production of different crops benefitting the farmers largely.
Information technology is the single most important element in the success and growth of international trade and job market growth, allowing businesses to share information and conduct trade in time less than the blink of an eye.
Technology encompasses a huge body of knowledge and tools that ease the use of economic resources as a way to produce goods and services efficiently and innovatively. Technological progress is essential for economic growth and development. The more advanced the technology available, the more quickly the local and global economy can improve.
Science has helped us a lot in many ways and it will keep helping. Everyone should not only invest as much as possible in science and technology but also should stay aware of all new technologies developed around the world.
