Let’s salute our real superheroes

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread around the world, doctors, nurses, paramedics, and emergency responders of every kind stepped up to take care of others. They’ve chosen to be there for us in our hour of need, sacrificing their own health, safety, and even the ability to go home to be with their families at the end of long, scary, and difficult shifts. That’s the true definition of heroism. STATE TIMES salutes all the real heroes and in this initiative will share their experience and their stories.
Assistant Matron in GMC&H, Tripta Chib, is a real hero, performing her duty in GMC&H and directly dealing with COVID patients. With a smile on face, wearing PPE kit, she performs her duty with full dedication, day and night to save lives.
While talking to STATE TIMES, Tripta Chib said, “The second wave of the virus is fatal and we are facing mental and emotional stress while dealing with this critical situation. We are trying our best to deal with the patients and save their lives but sometimes it becomes unbearable to see the deaths. It is torture working in PPE kits but all our paramedics and health workers are performing their duties in this scorching heat. We give our 100 per cent and try our best to take care of patients and save their lives. Daily, we pray to God to save all from this virus.”
She added, “I appeal to all to take precautions seriously and follow all the SOPs and guidelines religiously to stay safe from this deadly virus. Here, in GMC we are performing our duty and request you all to stay at homes to stay safe. Moreover, I would request that if you have any symptom get yourself tested so that you can get the treatment well on time.”
Tripta Chib further shared, “My family is my strength and with their well wishes and support, I am performing my duty here. We too want to spend time with family and enjoy holidays but we prefer our duty first and are working will full dedication. I salute all my staff members and colleagues who are working day and night and fighting with this situation.”
‘Once again, through your esteemed daily, I, Tripta Chib, Asst Matron would say that here in hospital we, all the doctors, nurses, health workers and paramedics are performing our duties with dedication and hope that people should behave responsibly and help us in the fight against deadly virus. Maintain Social distancing and get yourself checked at the counter, if you are feeling unrest. Help us to help you’, she added.
