Lawyers urge Chief Justice to resolve issues, protest enters day 81

JAMMU: The ongoing agitation of lawyers practicing in Jammu wing of J&K High Court and Subordinate Courts, demanding open entry in courts, completed 81 days on Monday. The lawyers held a Dharna in Janipur courts complex and raised slogans in support of their demands. The protesting lawyers, while welcoming new Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal, requested him to resolve issue of closure of courts, Bar Rooms and other facilities of lawyers. They also requested the Chief Justice to impress upon the Govt. to resolve other issues raised by them, for which they are agitating for last 81 days.
The advocates who were present during the protest included Raj Kumar Gupta Sr Advocate, J A Kazmi (former vice president), K K Pangotra, H C Jalmeria Convener Action Committee, S C Subhash, C S Gupta (Former Secretary Jammu Bar), B R Sharma (Former Vice President Jammu Bar), K K Abrol, M L Gupta, M S Bhau, Subhash Singh Jamwal, Kulbir Singh Sambyal, Inderjit Abrol, Iqbal Singh, Vijay Sharma, Rajinder Kumar Chanyal, M U Slaria (former vice president Jammu Bar), Shah Mohd Choudhary, Subodh Singh Jamwal, J P Sharma, Manohar Gupta, Khilari Lal Kouran, Mandeep Reen, Meenakshi Slathia, Meharban Singh, Kunal Chib, Manohar Lal, Vir Ranshore, Umesh Sharma, Narinder Sharma, Danish Singh Jamwal, Rajiv Kumar, Raghubir Singh, Ghara Ram, A M Khan, Gagandeep Singh Lucky, Varun Kumar, Sourab Banotra and Muzaffar Ali Shah.
