JAMMU: Demanding open entry in courts, the ongoing agitation of lawyers completed 67 days on Monday. The lawyers held a Dharna in Janipura Courts complex. The lawyers Action Committee is carrying ahead agitation since October 15, 2020 in protest against continued closure of their entry into High Court completely and partially in Subordinate Courts besides no entry of public since March 2020 and on few other issues.The protest Dharna was joined by advocates J A Kazmi (former vice president), O P Sharma, H C Jalmeria Convener of Action Committee, C S Gupta (Former Secretary Jammu Bar), B R Chandan, B R Sharma (Former Vice President Jammu Bar), M L Gupta, S S Chib, Vijay Sharma, S P Bakshi, N A Choudhary, Shah Mohd Choudhary, A S Azad, J P Sharma, O P Gupta, Subodh Singh Jamwal, Manohar Gupta, Sunil Dutt Sharma, M A Bhat, Waris Gill, Sandeep Gupta, Meharban Singh, Ashok Basotra, K S Chib, Dharminder Singh, Kamal Kishore, Wazahat, Dinesh S Jamwal, Manohar Lal, V S Saini, Mulkh Raj, Harish Kaila, A M Khan, Atul Raina, Gagan Deep Singh Lucky, Danish Gill, Muzaffar Ali Shah and Rakmesh Parihar.Meanwhile, Congress has extended its support to lawyers’ agitation and called for resolving issues of lawyers at the earliest. JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the Government has resumed all essential and non essential activities including holding of direct elections in J&K and elsewhere in the country. As a result of this, the resultant activities including litigations too have increased, requiring redressal mechanism to also to respond to situation, he added, urging Govt to fulfill all genuine demands of lawyers in general interests of litigant public.
