JAMMU: Carrying forward their agitation in support of their demand, the lawyers practicing in Jammu wing of J&K High Court and Subordinate Courts held a Dharna in Janipura Court Complex on Saturday. The Lawyers Action Committee is agitating since October 15, 2020 in protest against continued closure of their entry into High Court completely and partially in Subordinate Courts besides no entry of public since March 2020 and some other issues. The protest entered 65 day.The 8-point demand charter of lawyers included, opening of all courts for physical entry to lawyers and public, resume physical hearing, accepting hard copies of cases, opening locked Bar Rooms of lawyers, providing stamp papers and tickets within court premises through stamp vendors, immediate opening of Consumer Courts, shifting back Registry of Documents to Judicial Officers, withdrawing contempt initiated against some lawyers and Holding immediate election to the J&K Bar Council.The protest was attended by advocates J A Kazmi (former vice president), K K Pangotra, R K Gupta Sr Advocate, M P Gupta, E A Tak, H C Jalmeria Convener Action Committee, C S Gupta(Former Secretary Jammu Bar), Vinod Abrol, B R Sharma (Former Vice President Jammu Bar), S P Bakshi, Rajinder Kumar Chanyal, Sachin Gupta (former vice president Jammu Bar), J P Sharma, Bansi Lal Sharma, Rajinder S Jamwal, Subodh Singh Jamwal, Rakesh Chargotra, R S Dursuwal, Manohar Gupta, Meharban Singh, Ashok Basotra, K S Chib, Vilakshan Singh, Ajaz Choudhary, Sunit S Jamwal, S C Sharma, S K Rao, Kamal Kishore, Dinesh S Jamwal, Narinder Sharma, Umesh Sharma, Amit Gupta, Manohar Lal, S K Rao, Mulkh Raj, Suneel Bharti, Atul Raina, Karan Kapoor, Gagandeep Singh Lucky and Zaffar Iqbal.
