REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised Special Swachhta Campaign here at Judd village in Pouni block of Reasi distt. which was attended by a number of farmers of the village.The programme was organised under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof.JP Sharma and Director Extension (DE) of SKUAST-J, Prof. SK Gupta. All the SOPs pertaining to COVID-19 were strictly followed while conducting the programme.Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi warmly welcomed the farmers and guided farmers on farm waste management. He spoke in detail on waste to wealth and guided farmers on vermicomposting technology. He added that farmers can start entrepreneurship in vermicomposting and enhance their income and employment. He guided farmers on commercial organic farming and suggested the formulation of organic inputs at their fields. He also discussed on crop residue management and elaborated the various organic formulations. He also spoke on general cleanliness at home and farm and urged participants for the adoption of quality farm organic inputs through which they can generate higher returns. He requested the participants to disseminate this message of cleanness and hygiene to the other farmers of the area and suggested them to participate in this clean India campaign with full enthusiasm. He also highlighted the disadvantages of open defecation and suggested the participants to motivate the people to use toilets at their homes and eliminate open defecation. During the programme a special videos show on waste to wealth was also organized for the participants. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Dr.Banarsi Lal with the formal vote of thanks.
