Kuldip Magotra to lead Indian team as Manager at Thailand

JAMMU: Kuldip Magotra Associate Secretary of Volleyball Federation of India and Chief Executive Officer of Volleyball Association of J&K has been nominated as Manager of Indian Senior Men Volleyball team which will be participating in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Cup (AVC) for Men to be held at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from August 7–August 14, 2022. The team will be leaving on August 5, 2022.
Being a versatile personality in the field of sports, Kuldip Magotra has been recipient of many awards and honours at State, National and International levels for promotion of Volleyball game in sports arena. Magotra has been honoured with Sher-e-Kashmir State Sports award (Gold Medal) & cash on the Republic Day in the year 1987. He also represented India in 3rd Asian Junior Volleyball Championship held at Bangkok in the year 1986 as technical Delegate, in the year 1989 5th Asian Senior Men Volleyball Championship held at Seoul (S. Korea) as Manager, in the year 1999 as Manager of Senior Indian Men Volleyball team in 8th SAF Games at Kathmandu (Nepal) and won the Gold Medal. In the year 2006 he has also represented India as a Manager of Indian Volleyball Team in the International Tournament (Rashid Gold Cup) at Dubai. Magotra represented India as Manager in the 15th Asian Junior Women Volleyball Championship held at Ho Chin Minh City (Vietnam) from 12th to 20th Sept 2010.
Not only this, Magotra also represented India as Manager in the 18th Nursyltan Nazarlayar President’s Cup International Volleyball Tournament held at Almaty, Kazakhstan from 22nd to 27th August 2011, in which Indian team bagged gold medal and fetched cash prize worth U$ 50,000.
He has also represented India as Manager in the 18th Asian Senior Men Volleyball Championship held Tehran (Iran) from 31st July to 8th August, 2015.
Magotra’s managerial skills and enriched knowledge of Volleyball game/ conduct of various sports activities, has won laurels by one and all including the players/ office bearers of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir.
Magotra’s vast experience of working over 25 years as Hony General Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K a member of J&K State Sports Council (Apex Body of Sports) for a period of 16 years and as Treasurer for eight years of Volleyball Federation of India an apex body of India, has paid dividends in transformation of the Volleyball game in high standard.
Owing to his devotion and dedication in promotion of Volleyball game in India as well as in the State for the last over 35 years, Magotra has been elected as Associate Secretary in the present list of the Office Bearers of Volleyball Federation of India.
In organization skills, Magotra has so far organized 16th Junior National Volleyball Championship for (Boys & Girls) in the year 1990, 44th Senior National Volleyball Championship (Men & Women) in the year 1995 and in the year 2008 31st Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship for Boys & Girls in the erstwhile state of J&K. He will be leaving from Jammu on August 5, 2022.
