KISHTWAR: As part of the weekly Block divas programme, a mega Sarpanchs’ conference was today held here at conference Hall DC office Complex under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma, to aware the participants regarding the implementation of various schemes including the plantation of Ultra High Density apple trees and listen to the issues of their respective areas.
BDC Chairperson Kishtwar, Suresh Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Trigam Sri Chand; BDC Chairperson, Palmar, Anita Devi; DDC member Marwah, Mohd Zaffarullah; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; besides other district Officers werepresent on the occasion.
Delegation lead by PRI members highlighted various grievances and demanded up-gradation of local infrastructure and streamlining of designated public services.
The main demands raised were upgradation of drainage system along Kuleed Hullar road, provision of telecommunication facility at Marwah, road connectivity to Chichha Nagseni, construction of kitchen sheds at Shandri panchayats of Drabshalla block,rationalisation of staff in govt schools etc.
Sector-wise and department-wise grievances of the PRIs were redressed on the spot by the DC by passing slew of direction to the concerned officers.
Meanwhile, Special orientation programme for the PRIs to implement the Ultra High Density apple orchard Scheme was conducted by the department of horticulture under the guidance of Chief Horticulture officer, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani. The techniques and modalities for the implementation of the scheme were shared with the participants.
Besides, Medical superintendent District Hospital, Dr Parveaz Iqbal Wani also sensitized and educated the PRIs regarding various precautionary measures to fight against the resurging COVID19 pandemic.
PRIs members were asked to furnish a list of all persons with age of 45 years and above under their respective jurisdiction for their vaccination.
The DC asked PRIs to aware the masses at in the gram sabhas about the vaccination.
He further urged PRI members to act as a bridge between the masses and the Administration to spread awareness about various government schemes meant for farmers and other beneficiaries. Awareness regarding the cultivation of the high yielding variety seeds, Mushroom cultivation, ISSS, Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, Catch the rain campaign was also imparted to the participants by the concerned district officers. Later, one to one interaction was also held by Deputy Commissioner with the Sarpanchs and panchs and after listening to their individual grievances, redressed them by giving directions to the concerned.
