Kingpin of Chitta trade arrested


UDHAMPUR: Continuing war against drug menace, Udhampur police under the supervision of Sargun Shukla, SSP Udhampur has been acting strongly against nexus of drug peddlers in district Udhampur and surrounding areas. In this context, Udhampur Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting main heroin (Chitta) supplier of Udhampur area, responsible for drugs supply and trapping innocent youth, with recovery of 120 grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession. As per details, a party of Police Station Rehambal and Police Post Tikri led by Insp Chaman Gorka, SHO Police Station Rehambal and assisted by Insp Jaswinder Singh Incharge Police Post Tikri conducted a surprise checking of vehicles at Flata Chowk on NH-44, under supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur. During checking, police intercepted a XUV 500 (JK14C 8361) for thorough search and found 120 gm Heroine (Chitta) from possession of driver, who was identified as Hamraj Singh alias Tiger, son of Surinder Singh, resident of Barrian, Udhampur. The narcotic smuggler was a habitual criminal and earlier also has been named in numerous cases. In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 71/2021 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered against him in Police Station Rehambal.
