SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday arrested three accused involved in Khanyar murder case within 12 hours of crime.
As per details, on January 11, 2021, Police Station Khanyar received information from reliable sources that some unknown persons have stabbed a person, near Dastageer Sahib Khanyar, who was shifted to SMHS hospital & declared dead on arrival at hospital. On receipt of information, a case vide FIR No. 03/2021 under Sections 302 & 120-B was registered at Police Station Khanyar & investigation was set into motion. The deceased was identified as Zayan Chasti, son of Syed M Ashraf Chasti, resident of Rainawari Srinagar.
During investigation, technical and circumstantial evidences were collected and eye-witnesses were examined, thereby leading Investigating team to accused involved in heinous crime.
The IO ascertained involvement of three accused in the crime namely Mohammad Zahid Bhat, son of Fida Ahmad Bhat, resident of Ellahi Bagh Soural; Faizan Fida Bhat, son of Fida Ahmad Bhat, resident of Ellahi Bagh Soura and Wajid Altaf Kaullah, son of Mohammad Altaf, resident of Jabgri Pora Nowhatta Srinagar. All the accused persons were arrested within 12 hours of incident & investigation of case is underway.
