SAMBA: Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir urged the Govt to provide basic amenities in the Kandi belt of Samba District.“The previous Govt has failed to develop the Kandi belt of Jammu plains. The kandi belt of Samba lacks proper infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water and electricity supply,” said Former Minister and Senior Vice President, Apni Party, Ghulam Hassan Mir.Mir was addressing a public gathering at Chanoori in Sumb area of Samba district. During the meeting, the people of the area, mostly nomads, appraised Gh. Hassan Mir that the unscheduled power cuts, poor water supply system and adverse infrastructure which has affected their daily life.Mir assured them that their demands would be projected before the concerned authorities for early redressal. This public meeting was organized by Master Lal Mohd.Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Gh. Hassan Mir said that the administration does not listen to the public issues and the issues of providing basic amenities like water, road, electricity and cleanliness is their responsibility.He said that “J&K needs an elected Govt. The bureaucracy has done nothing good for the people. Their adamant attitude has created more issues and alienated people from the public friendly policies of the Central Govt.”Provincial President, Jammu and Former Minister, Manjit Singh speaking on the occasion, highlighted local issues of the kandi belt.He said that “It is unfortunate that Chanoori village is not being supplied drinking water even after seven decades of Independence. The village in Samba District seems backward because it has neither drinking water supply nor proper road connectivity. Samba – Sumb – Goran road is in the worst condition. The main road leading towards famous religious place Goran Devta is in deplorable condition which shows lack of interest from the Govt.”He demanded that it should be constructed and warned that the people will hold protests if the constriction of road is not taken up on priority basis.Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included State Coordinator OBC Madan Lal Chalotra, State Coordinator SC Bodh Raj Bhagat, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Vice President J&K Youth Wing Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, State Secretary Youth Wing J&K Salmaan Bhat, Provincial President Youth Wing Jammu, Gourav Kapoor, Raman Thappa, Sarpanch Pritam Chand, Gambir Sambal, Rakesh Sharma, Avinash Attarai, Taj Mohd, Ex-Sarpanch, Mani Ram Sharma and Suram Singh.
