JAMMU: Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Manoj K. Dhar on Sunday flagged off the distribution of winter clothes collected during the Winter Clothing Drive in collaboration with Disha Volunteers Organisation under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA). The clothes were distributed among 300 families in Bajalta village adopted by the University under UBA, Go I. On the occasion, Prof. Manoj Dhar appreciated the efforts of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan team University of Jammu for taking up much required woollen distribution drive in this winter along with regular activities initiated by the University in Bajalta village.He also appealed to the students to come forward to undertake such activities which can help to save the environment and also help them to initiate start-ups as the University has already established two companies to promote economic opportunities for the students. Prof. Jasbir Singh, Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. Samridhi Arora, Dr. Sarika Manhas, Dr. Suresh Rao, Dr.Hema Gandotra, S.R. Dubey, Anil Kumar and students and volunteers were present on the occasion. Rehmat Ali, Sarpanch, Bajalta expressed gratitude to the University of Jammu for their continuous efforts to support marginalised people of the village.
