JAMMU: The Corporator of Ward 21 Gandhi Nagar, Bhanu Mahajan inaugurated bottle and can shredder machine on Tuesday. The machine worth Rs. 1.23 lakh was procured by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) through GEM Portal. This is the second machine installed by JMC in the ward and first machine was installed at Gurudwara Sahib Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
The JMC official informed that the third machine will be commissioned at Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar and likewise other areas of the ward will also be covered under this project.
Speaking on the occasion, Corporator assured that as per the resources available she will not leave any stone unturned for the betterment of the ward in general and welfare of people in particular. She also appealed people to make maximum utilisation of waste management machines to contribute towards betterment of nature.
Senior Corporator Dwarka Choudhary, JMC Jt. Commissioner (W) Thussu, SC Mohit Mahajan, Ashwani Khullar Convenor ARTA, traders were also present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of JMC and Corporator.
