JAMMU: J&K Reserved Categories Electrical Engineers Association (JKRCEEA), an amalgam of electrical engineers from amongst reserved categories working in J&K Power Development Department, held an emergent meeting of its general body on Wednesday at Gladini under leadership of its President Nazir Ahmad Choudhary. Vice Presidents Anil Gupta and Irshad Khan also attended the meeting through Video Conferencing.
During the meeting, various important decisions regarding welfare of reserved category electrical engineers were taken. The members of JKRCEEA unanimously appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Advisor to LG Baseer Khan and Principal Secretary PDD, Rohit Kansal to do justice towards reserved category engineers working in PDD at various ranks.
The members highlighted that since reservation in promotions is withheld in UT of J&K and till the matter is sub-judice, the General Administration Department through its circulars issued from time to time has recommended for keeping slots reserved for reserved category employees.
The members of JKRCEEA further raised serious concern over the issue that recently some proposals of I/C placements of JE to AE and AE to AEE were initiated with apprehensions that reserved vacant slots meant for reserved categories were utilised in these proposals. JKRCEEA urged Principal Secretary PDD, Rohit Kansal not to allow any such proposals which will not only be vindictive but will also deprive meritorious reserved category engineers from getting their legitimate rights.
The meeting concluded on the note that JKRCEEA would try its best to work for the welfare of its members and would further request Lt Governor to issue necessary instructions in this regard, so that vacant reserved slots may not be utilised in random manner, unless some advisory is issued from the Government. Others who attended the meeting included Mohd Unees, Ishrat Mir, Navneet, Manzoor Ahangar, Tahir Choudhary, Avinash Uttam, Rajinder Singh, Arun Gupta and Sourabh Kainth.
