MARH: To discuss teething problems of private schools functioning in rural areas, a meeting of J&K Private Schools Association (JKPSA) Jammu was organised by Lal Chand Gandotra under leadership of Rameshwar Mengi in premises of SSK Hr Sec School Marh on Wednesday. The members urged the Government for reopening schools in Jammu & Kashmir before January 26, 2021.The meeting was attended by a number of members from different rural areas, who highlighted their problems before the Central Executive Body of JKPSA. Speaking on the occasion, they said that students in rural areas are worse sufferers in comparison to students of urban areas because students of urban areas have engaged themselves in offline mode to continue their studies by joining tutorials, tuition centers, coaching centers etc. It will become a big challenge to evolve a concept of team spirit, co-operation, coordination and work culture, if process of teaching will continue via online mode as most of the students in rural areas belong to peasantry class, they added. Expressing dismay over closure of schools for more than 10 months, the members said that they are hapless to run even their family due to non-availability of sufficient funds. Keeping all pros and cons in consideration and to bring all private schools out of financial deficit, Ajay Gupta General Secretary on behalf of members appealed to Government for withdrawal of circular no. 01 Edu of 2020 dated May 14, 2020 which was issued during lockdown and restoration of order no. 01 which was issued on January 28, 2019 by Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure for collection of fee by private schools.
