J&K reports 532 new positive cases, 82,858 recovered so far

JAMMU: The Government on Sunday informed that 532 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 177 from Jammu division and 355 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 91,861. Also 8 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 3 from Jammu division and 5 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 639 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 263 from Jammu Division and 376 from Kashmir Division.

88 prisoners cured of COVID-19 in Jammu district jail
Jammu: Eighty-eight prisoners, who were earlier tested positive for COVID-19, have recovered in the district jail in Amphalla here, bringing down the number of active cases in the prison to four, a senior official said on Sunday.
There is no positive case among the jail staff, Amphalla District Jail Superintendent Mirza Saleem Ahmad Beig told PTI. He said the final testing of 92 positive prisoners and 24 new admissions was undertaken on Sunday.
We are happy to announce that out of the total population of 635 inmates, only four inmates are positive now, he said, expressing confidence of keeping the disease at bay with the cooperation of the staff and prisoners by following the set guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures strictly.
Amphalla jail recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu region. Earlier this month, the 80 prisoners and three staff members were found positive but 72 of them including all the three staff members later turned negative after successful treatment.
Days later, another batch of 84 prisoners tested positive for the infection taking the number of active cases in the prison to 92.
Beig said none of the women prisoners tested positive for the disease.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 91,861 positive cases, 7,565 are Active Positive, 82,858 have recovered and 1,438 have died; 478 in Jammu division and 960 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 21,75,682 test results available, 20,83,821 samples have been tested as negative till October 25, 2020.
Till date 6,41,369 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 18,154 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,565 in isolation and 47,328 in home surveillance. Besides, 5,66,884 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 18,655 positive cases (including 124 cases reported today) with 1,748 Active Positive, 16,563 recovered (including 170 cases recovered today), 344 deaths; Baramulla has 5,619 positive cases (including 80 cases reported today) with 1,429 Active Positive, ,4049 recovered (including 41 cases recovered today), 141 deaths; Pulwama reported 4,558 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 238 active positive cases, 4,240 recovered (including 39 cases recovered today), 80 deaths; Kulgam has 2,459 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 108 Active Positive, 2,305 recoveries (including 04 case recovered today), 46 deaths; Shopian has 2,171 positive cases (including 25 cases reported today) with 85 Active Positive, 2,051 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today) and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4,176 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 359 Active Positive, 3,743 recovered (including 23 cases recovered today), 74 deaths; Budgam has 5,862 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today) with 365 Active Positive and 5,405 recovered (including 31 cases recovered today), 92 deaths; Kupwara has 4,286 positive cases (including 36 cases reported today) with 394 Active Positive, 3,821 recovered (including 28 cases recovered today), 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3,976 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 277 Active Positive, 3,654 recovered (including 10 cases reported today), 45 deaths and Ganderbal has 3,427 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 204 active positive cases, 3,191 recoveries (including 25 cases recovered today) and 32 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 16,905 positive cases (including 113 cases reported today) with 914 active positive cases, 15,742 recoveries (including 130 cases recovered today), 249 deaths; Rajouri has 3,172 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 168 active positive cases, 2,958 recovered (including 31 cases recovered today), 46 deaths; Ramban has 1,556 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 59 active positive, 1,484 recoveries (including 02 cases reported today) and 13 deaths; Kathua has 2,382 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 43 Active positive, 2,309 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today), 30 deaths; Udhampur has 2,633 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 113 active positive cases, 2,492 recovered and 28 deaths; Samba has 2,133 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 370 Active Positive, 1,738 recoveries and 25 deaths; Doda has 2,609 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 171 active positive cases, 2,394 recoveries (including 15 cases recovered today), 44 deaths; Poonch has 2,209 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 277 active positive, 1,910 recoveries (including 55 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1,224 positive cases (including 01 cases reported today) with 70 active positive, 1,147 recoveries and 07 deaths while Kishtwar has 1,849 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today), with 173 active positive cases and 1,662 recoveries (including 20 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 91,861 positive cases in J&K 9,591 have been reported as travelers while 82,270 as others.
