Positivity rate dips below 4 pc in Jammu district
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported 1,723 new cases of corona virus, taking the tally to 297602 in the Union Territory while 34 COVID related fatalities were recorded-21 in the Valley and 13 across the Jammu Division during 24 hours.Of the fresh cases, 1,124 were reported from the Valley and 599 in the Jammu division, officials said.While Srinagar district reported 303 cases, Baramulla recorded 177, Budgam 128, Pulwama 138, Kupwara 111, Anantnag 72, Bandipora 48, Ganderbal 37, Kulgam 88, Shopian 22, Jammu 165, Udhampur 53, Rajouri 73, Doda 48, Kathua 22, Samba 25, Kishtwar 31, Poonch 95, Ramban 75 and Reasi 12.
JAMMU: As per Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization J&K, the appointment on Cowin Portal for COVID-19 Vaccination of 18-44 years age group (Covaxin) will be available from 09:00 am onwards every day till the designated slots are booked.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 8746810test results available, 8449208 samples have been tested as negative till4th June, 2021.Till date 2135558 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 80993 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 29615 in isolation and 145655in home surveillance. Besides, 1875269 persons have completed their surveillance period. The officials also said one new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) has been reported today, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 14 in the J&K.Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Jammu has said that due to strict containment strategy, the COVID positivity rate has dropped to less than 4 per cent in the Jammu district.He said that intensive testing in both rural and urban areas, coupled with other measures, has helped in the containment of COVID spread. He said that 70 dedicated teams have been pressed in for testing in rural areas.Anshul Garg further informed that District Administration Jammu has launched an online survey to collect data about the persons in 45+and Divyang category, who have not yet taken vaccination. He also Informed the there are 35 vaccination sites including 5 sites for covaxin and 30 sites for covishield and urged people to get vaccinated.He appealed to the people to avail benefits of the COVID Care Centres activated at all 305 Panchayats of the district with 5 bed facility including onE oxygenated bed. He urged them to keep following the restrictions and SOPs/guidelines issued by the Administration as these are for their own benefits and protection from COVID-19.He informed that people can also share their grievances on the official Twitter account of Deputy Commissioner “@dcjammuofficial” or through Facebook “District Administration Jammu” and “District Information Center Jammu”.
