Namrata Sharma, Provincial President Women Wing Apni Party: We appreciate the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in holding an All Party meeting with the mainstream leaders. The stress on statehood and delimitation exercise for holding elections is an important milestone of the meeting. We are hopeful that the delimitation process will get pace and soon it will be completed, paving the way for conducting assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. We demand land security and job security for our youth. I hope there will be a new ray of hope and now new employment opportunities will be here. Moreover, I believe dialogue is the key to solve issues and this is indeed a welcome step. We demand full statehood and call for process to be set in motion for putting in place an elected government so that the issues and problems of people are solved and development gets a big boost. Jammu has suffered due to infiltration and militancy but it is high time now that the Centre should consider the aspirations of people of Jammu.
Surinder Choudhary, Former MLC PDP: We had pinned many hopes with the All Party Meet but unfortunately no issues or problems were discussed in the meeting. All Party Meet turned out to be a tea party and nothing fruitful emerged. It is sad that no issues of generating employment, land security and problems faced by Jammu people were raised in this meeting. Only false hopes and fake promises and nothing else. The issues pertaining to youth joining BSF and CISF besides the demands of the RET teachers issues were not discussed. The only regret is that the sentiments and aspirations of Jammu people are always ignored. Moreover, statehood is our right and we should get it back. Even our upper house is dissolved and there is no development. The people of Jammu and Kashmir need job and land security and newer avenues of jobs to address the burgeoning unemployment problem. BJP has only exploited Jammu people and has done nothing.
Mula Ram, Former Minister and Vice President Pradesh Congress Committee: All Party Meet was a positive step taken by PM Modi. It was a platform provided to all the leaders and political parties to express their views and share concerns. People of J&K had high hopes and aspirations from this meeting. Congress Party has highlighted issues and demands. We hope that soon J&K will get statehood and political process (elections) will get started. We demand job security for our youth. I am thankful to our leaders for highlighting the issues like domicile, generation of jobs, land security, electricity, toll taxes, delimitation, and restoration of statehood besides holding early elections.
