JAMMU: JK Congress on Saturday observed Jan Sewa Divas on the birth day of Shri Rahul Gandhi by holding blood donation and distribution of ration and other essential items to poor in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Led by G.A. Mir President JKPCC and other senior leaders and joined by the frontal wings and district units, the party organized the main function at PCC HQ Jammu in a simple and symbolic manner with only a limited leaders and activists attending the function in view of COVID norms.The youth Congress, & NSUI held a blood donation at PCC HQ while other fontal wings participated in the relief distribution Mahila Congress, Sewa Dal, DCC Urban, Minority Wing, Legal Cell, Unorganized Congress, OBC Wing and others participated lead by their heads. The PCC President inaugurated the blood donation camp of Youth Congress & NSUI besides symbolic distribution and dispatch of ration and relief material contributed by different wings and party leaders to different locations.He was flanked by Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Balwan Singh, Rajnish Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Indu Pawar, Uday Chib, Gurdarshan Singh, K.K Pangotra, Suresh Dogra, Sunny Parihar (NSUI), Bhavishya Sudan, Sanjeev Panda, Rajveer Singh, Sahil Sharma, Vandana Makhnotra, Ch. Aiyaz, Ricky Dalotra (PYC), Michael Wazir, Jagjeet Singh Rimpal, Gurmeet Singh, Nassar Masih, Parshotam Mehra and Dabid Babloo.
Mir said that it was a symbolic effort to help the needy and poor on the occasion of birthday of our national leader Rahul Gandhi who had issued directions not to celebrate the birthday but to help the needy at this crucial time. He said that the Central Govt utterly failed in its duty to take care of the health and safety of people. He failed to provide the oxygen, vaccine and required health and infrastructure facilities during the COVID wave second. We express solidarity with those who suffered and urge the Govt. to expedite the vaccination and create adequate facilities without further delay.Later Mir accompanied by senior leaders Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Manmohan Singh and others joined the relief distribution function at R.S. Pura area organized by Dr. Karan Bhagat. The party leaders appreciated the efforts of Dr. Karan Bhagat for the gesture to help the poor and needy at this time of crisis with ration and other essentials.Mir advised the party men to carry out the relief measures in their respective areas while observing the COVID norms and appropriate behavior and help the poor and needy during the ongoing crisis.Meanwhile, Various District Congress Committees and party units including DCC Jammu Urban, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi distributed relief on Rahul’s birthday. DCC Jammu led by Former Minister and Incharge DCC Jammu Yogesh Sawhney, DCC Rajouri led by senior leaders Rajesh Gupta, Vijay Sharma, Guru, Balkrishan Bali and others, DCC leaders Kathua led by Pankaj Dogra and others, DCC Udhampur, DCC Samba led by DCC President Sanjeev Sharma and Working President Babal Gupta, Dist. Reasi led by Seva Dal Chief Rajesh Sadotra and various other units organized relief distribution today.Led by Block President Som Raj Heer, DCC General Secretaries Vijay Bakshi and Master Ashok Sharma, Senior leader Doulat Ram Sharma, Manik Sharma (NSUI), Adv. Gourav Prashar Incharge City Committee Raj Kumar and others distributed relief amongst the needy in the Block Congress Office Nowshera. They wished long life to the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and described him a bold and selfless leader of the Country.Similar function was held at Sunderbani Congress Office by President City Congress Committee Vikram Verma and attended by Suraj Raina Incharge City Committee, Pinka Prasher, Sonu Kohli, Mahesh Sharma, Govind Sudan General Secretary DYC, Sanjay Sharma, Subash Verma and Bittu. They distributed relief to the poor families. District Congress Committee Rajouri also distributed relief amongst the patients of GMC Hospital Rajouri on the occasion of birth day of Rahul Gandhi today.Led by Rajesh Gupta, Bittu Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Guru, Balkrishan Bali and others, the Dist. Congress leaders handed over relief material to the doctors of GMC Rajouri for distribution amongst the poor patients, as per instructions of DCC President Shabir Ahmed Khan. They said that Rahul Gandhi is the bold voice of the poor and downtrodden in the Country.In the presence of President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir, OBC Department of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, headed by Advocate Suresh Kumar Dogra distributed energy drinks to the needy peoples on the occasion of birthday of Rahul Gandhi. Mir applauded Advocate Suresh Kumar Dogra for his selfless service to the downtroddens.Adv Suresh said, “The distribution of masks, energy drinks, medicines and food to the needy and poor shall be a continuing process by my team in different districts of Jammu region.”
