JAMMU: The home team of volleyball, after losing the first match, won the second group match on Sunday in the ongoing 69th Senior National Volleyball Championship (men and women) at KIIT University, Bhubneswar in Odisha.As per the reports reaching here, J&K men team in second match defeated Tripura by 3-0 (25-17, 25-12 and 25-15).Spikers Asgar, Amir Majid and Rajinder Pal Singh displayed their magnificent skills and dominated the proceedings to achieve victory.Earlier, J&K team lost to Himachal Pradesh by 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 17-25).The J&K teams under the banner of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir are playing under the guidance of J&K UT volleyball coaches.In a message sent to teams, President Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja congratulated the men team and officials for their brilliant display in the national championship and exhorted them to continue their efforts for achieving further success in the championship.In the seven-day championship, organised by Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) in collaboration with Odisha Volleyball Association, as many as 30 teams in men section and 28 in women section all across the nation are exhibiting their skills and latest techniques of game.This mega event has added another feather in VFI’s cap by allowing newly created Ladakh UT to participate in the fray.It is inspiring for all sports lovers in general and volleyball lovers in particular to encourage participation of all states/UTs in sports.The credit goes to President VFI Prof Achyuta Samanta, Secretary General VFI Anil Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer VFI Ramavatar Singh Jakhar & all office bearers of VFI including President VAJK Sidharth Daluja, Associate Joint Secretary VFI, Kuldeep Magotra Associate Secretary VFI/CEO VAJK and all office bearers of VAJK for connecting Ladakh UT with volleyball.
