J&K Bank to face Real Kashmir in final on April 8

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank shall be playing against the professional side of Real Kashmir FC in the final of the 28th J&K UT Football Championship, organised by the J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Synthetic Turf TRC, Srinagar.
The title clash is scheduled to be held on April 8 at 5:00 PM at the same venue.
Earlier, in the semifinals, decided on Saturday, J&K Bank XI & Heroes FC Jammu by two goals to nil in a well contested game. It was in the third minute of the game when J&K Bank scored an easy goal through Akif.
However, Hero’s FC consolidated their position and played magnificent game through short passes, dribbling and man to man marking which was appreciated by the healthy crowd.
The formidable side of J&K Bank tried hard to increase the margin but failed. The half time score remained 1-0 in favour of J&K Bank.
In the 70th minute, Bank made a brilliant move which was foiled by the Hero’s goalkeeper saving a sure shot goal. The match was evenly balanced and J&K Bank could increase the margin in 89th minute of the game.
The quality of the game and the skill displayed by young turks of Hero’s FC Jammu took the spectators by surprise, who applauded every move.
Parvinder Kalsi of Hero’s FC Jammu was awarded a cash prize for best performance as a custodian at the net.
Meanwhile, in the second semifinal Real Kashmir FC outplayed J&K Police by a solitary goal. Real Kashmir missed a sure goal chance in the 10th minute when chance JKP goalkeeper made a tremendous save.
The game picked up momentum and both the teams played an offensive football to find net. It was a goalless half time play. After the breather, J&K Police played with all their might but could not stop Real Kashmir winger, Hyder who made a beautiful cross and Basit made no mistake to convert it into a goal in 67th minute.
J&K Police made all out effort in the dying movement of the game trying to find an equalizer but failed.
Nazir Ahmad (HOR Referees), Roshan Khayal (Ex-DGM J&K Bank) and Irshad Ahmad (owner of Kashmir Avengers FC) were the guests, who interacted with the teams.
