J&K ANTF recovers 5.80 Kg Hashish, arrests driver

JAMMU: The sleuths of Jammu and Kashmir Narcotics Task Force (J&K ANTF) on Friday recovered 5.80 Kgs of Hashish and arrested a truck driver in Sidhra area here on city outskirts.
SSP ANTF Vinay Sharma here said that on specific information that a consignment of narcotics is going from Kashmir to Jammu in a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AJ-1985, sleuths of ANTF swung into action and laid Nakas at various places.
The team successfully intercepted the aforesaid truck near Environmental Park, Nagrota, Sidhra, here.
During checking, Vinay Sharma said, 5.80 Kgs of Hashish has been recovered and driver of the truck namely Imtyaz Ahmad, son of Rafiq Hussain, resident of Kot Dhara, Rajouri, has been arrested.
A case FIR No 01/21 under Section 8/20 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered.
ANTF is investigating forward and backward links of these narco smugglers, Vinay said adding that more arrests are expected.
SSP ANTF appealed to the general public for cooperation in their campaign against drug dealers to eradicate this menace from society.
