JAMMU: Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah on Friday laid foundation stone for the ambitious Skating Stadium at village Jindrah in district Jammu.
Chief Patron of the Club and educationist, Vidhi Singh Jamwal performed Puja at the proposed site for the sports facility.
“It was dream of a group of skaters, who have roots in Jindrah, to set up modern training facility for those budding talent from the rural areas of Tehsil Jandrah.
Today’s these skaters, most of them have excelled at the international level and have well settled in life, have taken the first step to make their dream come true,” said Vidhi Singh, who belongs to the same village, after laying the foundation stone.
It was in the year 1995 that a group of young skaters had formed the skating club in the name of ‘Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah’.
“It took us 25 years to make our dream come true. We have received tremendous response and support from those practicing and patronising the beautiful game of skating,” informed senior member of the Club, Arya Vir Singh Jamwal.
Among those who were present included Ankush Kohli, Narinder Malhotra, Krish Gupta, Gagan Singh Jamwal and Pardeep Singh.
Important to mention here that the Roller Athlete Club Jandrah has been involved in different kind of activities ranging from highlighting social issues, raising funds for a cause, holding sports events and rallies, distributing stationary items among the needy students.
